BUT - the magnitude of their sins is rather small...

The troops deserve office hours with restriction to barracks, any NCO's involved should lose a stripe (for proven irresponsibility), and any officers involved should do a "for the good of the service" resignation.

Anybody familiar with Col. Ed Lansdale? He helped break a Communist revolt in the Phillipines with the aid of a little psy-ops.

They would capure the last man of a rebel patrol, kill him, puncture his neck as if he had been bitten, and drain his blood. They would then place the corpse on the trail for his buddies to find. The Communists were mainly part of the Huk "tribe", which had a vampire myth, the asuang.

Lansdale understood the mentality of his foe, and used it against them.

These paticular soldiers should be punished for violating orders, but perhaps we should think of humiliating these jihadis and baathists. We should show them, w/o benefit of hoods, being ordered around by female MPs. We should show them scrubbing dirty shitters with toothbrushes. We should show them being showered in pig's blood. We should show them being humiliated.

We don't understand their culture? Maybe they need to understand our culture, in which you are not allowed to kill somebody just because they don't worship your god.

They are NOT prisoners of war, and DO NOT deserve treatment as such.

Proper regard shall be paid to the special treatment due to minors.

Protected persons who are detained shall have the right to be visited by delegates of the Protecting Power and of the International Committee of the Red Cross, in accordance with the provisions of Article 143.

Such persons shall have the right to receive at least one relief parcel monthly. (GC, art. 76.)"

There is not jack shit in there about treating them with the least modicum of dignity. Has they followed the Laws of War, it would be different.

But I disagree with it. Humiliating terrorists is not torturing them; it is not executing them; it is not performing collective punishment on their families These detainees are not members of a legitimate army, and have no rights besides those listed.

By humiliation, we have another punishment option besides allowing these thugs to become martyrs. Understand that I am not saying we round up random Iraqis to do this to. After we squeeze out intel from prisoners, we make 'em look like trash to their people. They might join up to be shaheed, but not to be "dishonored".

As to what we as a people are capable of; I have a little parable. As a kid, I was, of course, short. So I got picked on sometimes. I didn't like my friends bailing me out of things, so I took a little martial arts training. Then I got picked on, because while I had the training to deal with the situation, I didn't have the will. I was afraid I would hurt somebody. Finally, somebody tried to punk me in front of the girl I wanted most in life. I finally realized that power is useless without direction. Did I want to be picked on, or not? So I bounced the guy's head off the ground a couple of times, and nobody bothered me after that. Do we as a country want to to be the big guy everyone picks on coz they know he won't fight?

Let me restate my earlier point; humliation is not a human rights violation in the case of non-POW's. If jihadis don't want to be humiliated, they might think about reforming the ROP. Humiliation is not even that great of a personal intrusion. It would make a great PSYOP tool. A punch to the throat, perhaps.

These paticular soldiers should be punished for violating procedure, but I don't see lasting damage to the prisoners.

I had to think about this before I posted.

First off, I will re-express my sorrow to the Spanish for the recent losses to terrorism there.

I would also like to thank the Spanish for the support we have recieved from them so far in the WOT.

I would doubly thank the Poles for their ongoing support. If anyone remembers, it was Polish support that saved Vienna from Muslim crusades in the 1600's.

BUT, cowardice is the norm in human behavior. I reluctantly release the Spanish from their responsibility. I will also reluctantly release the Poles and the British,etc, etc, once Al-Queada steps up to attack them in their homelands. I don't expect any better from them (and I will step back from slurring them as Europeans who can't stomach the good fight, which is my usual contention), as I don't expect any better from a large part of my own countrymen.

What this shows is the absolute necessity of sticking it out on the part of the Bush administration, REGARDLESS of the political positions of the Europeans, or our own internal foes. If the Bush admin falls to political BS this election, then every serviceman and policeman, as well as every one else that knows how to carry a rifle in the defense of freedom, is going to have to consider their own duties.

Only an willfully ignorant person can't see the menace posed to our liberty. As far as I am concerned, someone that blinds themselves to that danger has NO business having any part making policy on my behalf.

I quit posting here for a few reasons.
1. posting did nothing to alleviate my anger with the trends that are destroying our country
2. angry posting doesn't change minds: well, for the most part, neither does facts or logic ;>
3. I had too many blogs up
4. I started using my Myspace blog to post on a normal basis
5. I ran out of energy and time several times over the last 4 years.

I think I will start mirroring the MySpace blog here, or at least the more politically oriented posts.

I need to make a serious effort not to be so abusive; this will be hard.
Ignorance pisses me off, and willful ignorance (the ability to not see a relevant fact, or to rationalize a fact away as a "Republican lie", simply because it would force a person to re-evaluate a belief) drives me batshit. I don't limit this to liberals, as I have gone off on rants on Christians, Jerry Jones, and people that believe that rap is music.

So, let's apply "willful ignorance" to myself a moment.
1. I get mad at someone's dumb opinion or act
2. I point out the stupidity of whatever the offending subject is.
3. I willfully ignore the FACT that people get stubborn when you call them stupid, no matter how cutely you apply the clue bat.
4. I willfully ignore the FACT that people rarely change their minds anyway, even if an objective and calm argument is agreed to. Emotion and "internal logics" will usually trump something that is obvious to everyone else. Note: I am not excluded from this.
5. I am then mad at something I can't change.

Maybe a little self-control would be in order. I will still rant, but the point of my blogging should be as an emotional outlet for anger, a semi-structured framework of my thinking over time, and as a place I can still laff at my own twisted humor.

Considering the wording of the Congressional resolution, an actual declaration of war is not necessary.

For me tho, these people are just as much the enemy as the jihadis.

So when they do break the law, and I can't see that woman's sign as anything but treason, legally speaking, then I want the full weight of the law crashing down on them.

I don't call for the assasination of protestors, so when they call for the deaths of our troops, they need to be held accountable.

When their "civil disobedience" damages property, they need to be held accountable.

I have no problem with them exercising their rights, even tho I despise them for not exercising the responsibilities that go with those rights. The major cornerstone of responsible dissent is informed dissent.
These monkeys have no concept of rational thought, or of responsibility.

To conclude this rant, therefore, when they go past the line, I want them to be hammered on it. If we, as a society, have agreed on the rules of fair dissent and speech (as codified by law), then we as a society need to enforce what we have agreed upon.

A legitimate response to my rant, of course, is that giving someone the death penalty for carrying a treasonous sign is unreasonable for that paticular crime. The death penalty should be reserved for the likes of the Rosenbergs, and Benedict Arnolds.

The other punishment is not less then 5 years in prison, and a fine of not less then $10000.

My view is that these people gloat over the death of those that protect them, they hide behind the freedoms that others have died for, and that they take no responsibility for their actions.

I do consider them the enemy, and as such, want them punished in unreasonably harsh, but legally justified ways.

Our government seems to react more in the mold of Zachariah, and (G*d Forbid!), Gordon.

The FBI opened an investigation in ANSWER's funding over two years ago, and didn't find anything the Fed's wanted to prosecute. There have been more then a few cases (exposed on this board) that the gov declined to pursue charges.

Perhaps the gov doesn't want to create another partisan battle, perhaps they don't want to use resources required to "get" protestors, and just maybe they don't feel this trash is dangerous.

Performance-Based Roadmap to a Permanent Two-State Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The following is a performance-based and goal-driven roadmap, with clear phases, timelines, target dates, and benchmarks aiming at progress through reciprocal steps by the two parties in the political, security, economic, humanitarian, and institution-building fields, under the auspices of the Quartet [the United States, European Union, United Nations, and Russia]. The destination is a final and comprehensive settlement of the Israel-Palestinian conflict by 2005, as presented in President Bush’s speech of 24 June, and welcomed by the EU, Russia and the UN in the 16 July and 17 September Quartet Ministerial statements.

A two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will only be achieved through an end to violence and terrorism, when the Palestinian people have a leadership acting decisively against terror and willing and able to build a practicing democracy based on tolerance and liberty, and through Israel’s readiness to do what is necessary for a democratic Palestinian state to be established, and a clear, unambiguous acceptance by both parties of the goal of a negotiated settlement as described below. The Quartet will assist and facilitate implementation of the plan, starting in Phase I, including direct discussions between the parties as required. The plan establishes a realistic timeline for implementation. However, as a performance-based plan, progress will require and depend upon the good faith efforts of the parties, and their compliance with each of the obligations outlined below. Should the parties perform their obligations rapidly, progress within and through the phases may come sooner than indicated in the plan. Non-compliance with obligations will impede progress.

A settlement, negotiated between the parties, will result in the emergence of an independent, democratic, and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel and its other neighbors. The settlement will resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and end the occupation that began in 1967, based on the foundations of the Madrid Conference, the principle of land for peace, UNSCRs 242, 338 and 1397, agreements previously reached by the parties, and the initiative of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah – endorsed by the Beirut Arab League Summit – calling for acceptance of Israel as a neighbor living in peace and security, in the context of a comprehensive settlement. This initiative is a vital element of international efforts to promote a comprehensive peace on all tracks, including the Syrian-Israeli and Lebanese-Israeli tracks.

The Quartet will meet regularly at senior levels to evaluate the parties' performance on implementation of the plan. In each phase, the parties are expected to perform their obligations in parallel, unless otherwise indicated.

Phase I: Ending Terror And Violence, Normalizing Palestinian Life, and Building Palestinian Institutions -- Present to May 2003

In Phase I, the Palestinians immediately undertake an unconditional cessation of violence according to the steps outlined below; such action should be accompanied by supportive measures undertaken by Israel. Palestinians and Israelis resume security cooperation based on the Tenet work plan to end violence, terrorism, and incitement through restructured and effective Palestinian security services. Palestinians undertake comprehensive political reform in preparation for statehood, including drafting a Palestinian constitution, and free, fair and open elections upon the basis of those measures. Israel takes all necessary steps to help normalize Palestinian life. Israel withdraws from Palestinian areas occupied from September 28, 2000 and the two sides restore the status quo that existed at that time, as security performance and cooperation progress. Israel also freezes all settlement activity, consistent with the Mitchell report.

At the outset of Phase I:

Palestinian leadership issues unequivocal statement reiterating Israel’s right to exist in peace and security and calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to end armed activity and all acts of violence against Israelis anywhere. All official Palestinian institutions end incitement against Israel.

Israeli leadership issues unequivocal statement affirming its commitment to the two-state vision of an independent, viable, sovereign Palestinian state living in peace and security alongside Israel, as expressed by President Bush, and calling for an immediate end to violence against Palestinians everywhere. All official Israeli institutions end incitement against Palestinians.

Security

Palestinians declare an unequivocal end to violence and terrorism and undertake visible efforts on the ground to arrest, disrupt, and restrain individuals and groups conducting and planning violent attacks on Israelis anywhere.

Rebuilt and refocused Palestinian Authority security apparatus begins sustained, targeted, and effective operations aimed at confronting all those engaged in terror and dismantlement of terrorist capabilities and infrastructure. This includes commencing confiscation of illegal weapons and consolidation of security authority, free of association with terror and corruption.

GOI takes no actions undermining trust, including deportations, attacks on civilians; confiscation and/or demolition of Palestinian homes and property, as a punitive measure or to facilitate Israeli construction; destruction of Palestinian institutions and infrastructure; and other measures specified in the Tenet work plan.

Relying on existing mechanisms and on-the-ground resources, Quartet representatives begin informal monitoring and consult with the parties on establishment of a formal monitoring mechanism and its implementation.

Implementation, as previously agreed, of U.S. rebuilding, training and resumed security cooperation plan in collaboration with outside oversight board (U.S.–Egypt–Jordan). Quartet support for efforts to achieve a lasting, comprehensive cease-fire.

All Palestinian security organizations are consolidated into three services reporting to an empowered Interior Minister.

Restructured/retrained Palestinian security forces and IDF counterparts progressively resume security cooperation and other undertakings in implementation of the Tenet work plan, including regular senior-level meetings, with the participation of U.S. security officials.

Arab states cut off public and private funding and all other forms of support for groups supporting and engaging in violence and terror.

All donors providing budgetary support for the Palestinians channel these funds through the Palestinian Ministry of Finance's Single Treasury Account.

As comprehensive security performance moves forward, IDF withdraws progressively from areas occupied since September 28, 2000 and the two sides restore the status quo that existed prior to September 28, 2000. Palestinian security forces redeploy to areas vacated by IDF.

Palestinian Institution-Building

Immediate action on credible process to produce draft constitution for Palestinian statehood. As rapidly as possible, constitutional committee circulates draft Palestinian constitution, based on strong parliamentary democracy and cabinet with empowered prime minister, for public comment/debate. Constitutional committee proposes draft document for submission after elections for approval by appropriate Palestinian institutions.

Appointment of interim prime minister or cabinet with empowered executive authority/decision-making body.

GOI fully facilitates travel of Palestinian officials for PLC and Cabinet sessions, internationally supervised security retraining, electoral and other reform activity, and other supportive measures related to the reform efforts.

Continued appointment of Palestinian ministers empowered to undertake fundamental reform. Completion of further steps to achieve genuine separation of powers, including any necessary Palestinian legal reforms for this purpose.

Establishment of independent Palestinian election commission. PLC reviews and revises election law.

Palestinian performance on judicial, administrative, and economic benchmarks, as established by the International Task Force on Palestinian Reform.

As early as possible, and based upon the above measures and in the context of open debate and transparent candidate selection/electoral campaign based on a free, multi-party process, Palestinians hold free, open, and fair elections.

GOI facilitates Task Force election assistance, registration of voters, movement of candidates and voting officials. Support for NGOs involved in the election process.

GOI reopens Palestinian Chamber of Commerce and other closed Palestinian institutions in East Jerusalem based on a commitment that these institutions operate strictly in accordance with prior agreements between the parties.

Humanitarian Response

Israel takes measures to improve the humanitarian situation. Israel and Palestinians implement in full all recommendations of the Bertini report to improve humanitarian conditions, lifting curfews and easing restrictions on movement of persons and goods, and allowing full, safe, and unfettered access of international and humanitarian personnel.

AHLC reviews the humanitarian situation and prospects for economic development in the West Bank and Gaza and launches a major donor assistance effort, including to the reform effort.

GOI and PA continue revenue clearance process and transfer of funds, including arrears, in accordance with agreed, transparent monitoring mechanism.

Civil Society

Continued donor support, including increased funding through PVOs/NGOs, for people to people programs, private sector development and civil society initiatives.

Settlements

GOI immediately dismantles settlement outposts erected since March 2001.

Consistent with the Mitchell Report, GOI freezes all settlement activity (including natural growth of settlements).

Phase II: Transition -- June 2003-December 2003

In the second phase, efforts are focused on the option of creating an independent Palestinian state with provisional borders and attributes of sovereignty, based on the new constitution, as a way station to a permanent status settlement. As has been noted, this goal can be achieved when the Palestinian people have a leadership acting decisively against terror, willing and able to build a practicing democracy based on tolerance and liberty. With such a leadership, reformed civil institutions and security structures, the Palestinians will have the active support of the Quartet and the broader international community in establishing an independent, viable, state.

Progress into Phase II will be based upon the consensus judgment of the Quartet of whether conditions are appropriate to proceed, taking into account performance of both parties. Furthering and sustaining efforts to normalize Palestinian lives and build Palestinian institutions, Phase II starts after Palestinian elections and ends with possible creation of an independent Palestinian state with provisional borders in 2003. Its primary goals are continued comprehensive security performance and effective security cooperation, continued normalization of Palestinian life and institution-building, further building on and sustaining of the goals outlined in Phase I, ratification of a democratic Palestinian constitution, formal establishment of office of prime minister, consolidation of political reform, and the creation of a Palestinian state with provisional borders.

International Conference: Convened by the Quartet, in consultation with the parties, immediately after the successful conclusion of Palestinian elections, to support Palestinian economic recovery and launch a process, leading to establishment of an independent Palestinian state with provisional borders.

Such a meeting would be inclusive, based on the goal of a comprehensive Middle East peace (including between Israel and Syria, and Israel and Lebanon), and based on the principles described in the preamble to this document.

Arab states restore pre-intifada links to Israel (trade offices, etc.).

Revival of multilateral engagement on issues including regional water resources, environment, economic development, refugees, and arms control issues.

New constitution for democratic, independent Palestinian state is finalized and approved by appropriate Palestinian institutions. Further elections, if required, should follow approval of the new constitution.

Empowered reform cabinet with office of prime minister formally established, consistent with draft constitution.

Continued comprehensive security performance, including effective security cooperation on the bases laid out in Phase I.

Creation of an independent Palestinian state with provisional borders through a process of Israeli-Palestinian engagement, launched by the international conference. As part of this process, implementation of prior agreements, to enhance maximum territorial contiguity, including further action on settlements in conjunction with establishment of a Palestinian state with provisional borders.

Enhanced international role in monitoring transition, with the active, sustained, and operational support of the Quartet.

Quartet members promote international recognition of Palestinian state, including possible UN membership.

Phase III: Permanent Status Agreement and End of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict -- 2004 – 2005

Progress into Phase III, based on consensus judgment of Quartet, and taking into account actions of both parties and Quartet monitoring. Phase III objectives are consolidation of reform and stabilization of Palestinian institutions, sustained, effective Palestinian security performance, and Israeli-Palestinian negotiations aimed at a permanent status agreement in 2005.

Parties reach final and comprehensive permanent status agreement that ends the Israel-Palestinian conflict in 2005, through a settlement negotiated between the parties based on UNSCR 242, 338, and 1397, that ends the occupation that began in 1967, and includes an agreed, just, fair, and realistic solution to the refugee issue, and a negotiated resolution on the status of Jerusalem that takes into account the political and religious concerns of both sides, and protects the religious interests of Jews, Christians, and Muslims worldwide, and fulfills the vision of two states, Israel and sovereign, independent, democratic and viable Palestine, living side-by-side in peace and security.

Arab state acceptance of full normal relations with Israel and security for all the states of the region in the context of a comprehensive Arab-Israeli peace.

Even if you enlist, you might experience the feeling of "missing out".

During Desert Storm, I was sitting with my combat MOS (0313 - LAV Crewman) in the Phillipines. Pretty ladies, beautiful country, and extremely drinkable liqour made the days nice, but I thought I was still "missing out". Half our company volunteered to go to the Gulf, but the command decision had already been made, and we did like good Marines do when given an order.

So if you join, combat or support MOS, you might find yourself doing what you think is unglamorous, or not what you decide is a contribution anyway.

That having been said, I hope you join up. I had more fun in the Corps then I did in college, and definetely take more pride in my service then my degree.

I also got to go to Japan during my term, and that was pretty good, too!

In the IDF, be prepared to deal with people you will literally want to shoot, but will have to treat professionally, like the ISM trash. Keep your cool and you just might win a heart and mind.

Manning a checkpoint won't be as glorious as commanding a tank roaring through the desert to Damascus, but still very necessary.

BTW, have you a specialty pref?

I don't consider Israel to be an American colony, but probably the best ally the U.S. has (or maybe a tie w/ Australia), so it's almost as good as joining the Corps, lol.

If you are combat minded, try to get into Armor. I had enlisted as an infantryman, so, when as a short and fat private, I was afforded the chance to get into LAV's, I jumped at the chance to avoid those damn marches (which didn't work - Marine officers like to march - I think they have all read "Battle Cry"!).

I don't know how the IDF stuctures it's armored forces, but arguments about the concepts of Armor vs Moblie Infantry vs Cavalry are always make an interesting discussion.

Plus, riding beats the shit out of walking ;>

The Marine Corps word for march is "hump", and means full gear at a pretty good clip.

A nice half day march ran about 8 miles, a full day would be 25, and if your skipper wanted bragging rights over the next CO, 50 miles wasn't unheard of.

Short people go at the end of the line. I probably ran most of the way keeping up, lol.

Damn that's a good song. I never saw the elephant tho. Volunteered for infantry, got into what was basically calvalry (0313 - Light Armored Vehicle crewman). Spent 2/3 of my term overseas, hell I VOLUNTEERED to go overseas everytime a float was being organized. I went from A co to B. co back to A co. I spent the whole of Gulf War 1 in the PI. I got combat pay, but the commies never wanted to play ball. I missed Panama too.

So I never was in combat. Closest I ever came to gettin shot was training exercises. There some funny stories there. Later tho.

When I was younger, it used to bother me. We were safe in the land of cheap booze and chaeper whores while every other line company, including the reservists, went to war. Now it doesn't bother me so much. I think it used to bother me coz I tried to go back in twice (once during Somalia, and once after 9/11) and couldn't. Now I realize that I am too old slow and sloppy to be combat effective. I did my duty, and I'm lucky that I never got shot or crippled, or even put in the position it might have happened.

Praise be unto Allah, to whom we resort for help, and whose forgiveness, guidance and support we seek; Allah bless the Prophet and grant him salvation, his companions and supporters, and to those who carried out his message and adopted his laws - everlasting prayers and salvation as long as the earth and heaven will last. O People:
Out of the midst of troubles and the sea of suffering, out of the palpitations of faithful hearts and cleansed arms; out of the sense of duty, and in response to Allah's command, the call has gone out rallying people together and making them follow the ways of Allah, leading them to have determined will in order to fulfill their role in life, to overcome all obstacles, and surmount the difficulties on the way. Constant preparation has continued and so has the readiness to sacrifice life and all that is precious for the sake of Allah.

Thus it was that the nucleus (of the movement) was formed and started to pave its way through the tempestuous sea of hopes and expectations, of wishes and yearnings, of troubles and obstacles, of pain and challenges, both inside and outside.

When the idea was ripe, the seed grew and the plant struck root in the soil of reality, away from passing emotions, and hateful haste. The Islamic Resistance Movement emerged to carry out its role through striving for the sake of its Creator, its arms intertwined with those of all the fighters for the liberation of Palestine. The spirits of its fighters meet with the spirits of all the fighters who have sacrificed their lives on the soil of Palestine, ever since it was conquered by the companions of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, and until this day.

This Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), clarifies its picture, reveals its identity, outlines its stand, explains its aims, speaks about its hopes, and calls for its support, adoption and joining its ranks. Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps. The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is realised.

Thus we see them coming on the horizon "and you shall learn about it hereafter" "Allah hath written, Verily I will prevail, and my apostles: for Allah is strong and mighty." (The Dispute - verse 21).

Ideological Starting-Points
Article One:

The Islamic Resistance Movement: The Movement's programme is Islam. From it, it draws its ideas, ways of thinking and understanding of the universe, life and man. It resorts to it for judgement in all its conduct, and it is inspired by it for guidance of its steps.

The Islamic Resistance Movement's Relation With the Moslem Brotherhood Group:
Article Two:

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine. Moslem Brotherhood Movement is a universal organization which constitutes the largest Islamic movement in modern times. It is characterised by its deep understanding, accurate comprehension and its complete embrace of all Islamic concepts of all aspects of life, culture, creed, politics, economics, education, society, justice and judgement, the spreading of Islam, education, art, information, science of the occult and conversion to Islam.

Structure and Formation
Article Three:

The basic structure of the Islamic Resistance Movement consists of Moslems who have given their allegiance to Allah whom they truly worship, - "I have created the jinn and humans only for the purpose of worshipping" - who know their duty towards themselves, their families and country. In all that, they fear Allah and raise the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors, so that they would rid the land and the people of their uncleanliness, vileness and evils.

"But we will oppose truth to vanity, and it shall confound the same; and behold, it shall vanish away." (Prophets - verse 18).

Article Four:

The Islamic Resistance Movement welcomes every Moslem who embraces its faith, ideology, follows its programme, keeps its secrets, and wants to belong to its ranks and carry out the duty. Allah will certainly reward such one.

Time and Place Extent of the Islamic Resistance Movement:
Article Five:

Time extent of the Islamic Resistance Movement: By adopting Islam as its way of life, the Movement goes back to the time of the birth of the Islamic message, of the righteous ancestor, for Allah is its target, the Prophet is its example and the Koran is its constitution. Its extent in place is anywhere that there are Moslems who embrace Islam as their way of life everywhere in the globe. This being so, it extends to the depth of the earth and reaches out to the heaven.

"Dost thou not see how Allah putteth forth a parable; representing a good word, as a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed in the earth, and whose branches reach unto heaven; which bringeth forth its fruit in all seasons, by the will of its Lord? Allah propoundeth parables unto men, that they may be instructed." (Abraham - verses 24-25).

Characteristics and Independence:
Article Six:

The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine, for under the wing of Islam followers of all religions can coexist in security and safety where their lives, possessions and rights are concerned. In the absence of Islam, strife will be rife, oppression spreads, evil prevails and schisms and wars will break out.

How excellent was the Moslem poet, Mohamed Ikbal, when he wrote:

"If faith is lost, there is no security and there is no life for him who does not adhere to religion. He who accepts life without religion, has taken annihilation as his companion for life."

The Universality of the Islamic Resistance Movement:
Article Seven:

As a result of the fact that those Moslems who adhere to the ways of the Islamic Resistance Movement spread all over the world, rally support for it and its stands, strive towards enhancing its struggle, the Movement is a universal one. It is well-equipped for that because of the clarity of its ideology, the nobility of its aim and the loftiness of its objectives.

On this basis, the Movement should be viewed and evaluated, and its role be recognised. He who denies its right, evades supporting it and turns a blind eye to facts, whether intentionally or unintentionally, would awaken to see that events have overtaken him and with no logic to justify his attitude. One should certainly learn from past examples.

The injustice of next-of-kin is harder to bear than the smite of the Indian sword.

"We have also sent down unto thee the book of the Koran with truth, confirming that scripture which was revealed before it; and preserving the same safe from corruption. Judge therefore between them according to that which Allah hath revealed; and follow not their desires, by swerving from the truth which hath come unto thee. Unto every of you have we given a law, and an open path; and if Allah had pleased, he had surely made you one people; but he hath thought it fit to give you different laws, that he might try you in that which he hath given you respectively. Therefore strive to excel each other in good works; unto Allah shall ye all return, and then will he declare unto you that concerning which ye have disagreed." (The Table, verse 48).

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the links in the chain of the struggle against the Zionist invaders. It goes back to 1939, to the emergence of the martyr Izz al-Din al Kissam and his brethren the fighters, members of Moslem Brotherhood. It goes on to reach out and become one with another chain that includes the struggle of the Palestinians and Moslem Brotherhood in the 1948 war and the Jihad operations of the Moslem Brotherhood in 1968 and after.

Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah's promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

The Slogan of the Islamic Resistance Movement:
Article Eight:

Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.

Article Nine:

The Islamic Resistance Movement found itself at a time when Islam has disappeared from life. Thus rules shook, concepts were upset, values changed and evil people took control, oppression and darkness prevailed, cowards became like tigers: homelands were usurped, people were scattered and were caused to wander all over the world, the state of justice disappeared and the state of falsehood replaced it. Nothing remained in its right place. Thus, when Islam is absent from the arena, everything changes. From this state of affairs the incentives are drawn.

As for the objectives: They are the fighting against the false, defeating it and vanquishing it so that justice could prevail, homelands be retrieved and from its mosques would the voice of the mu'azen emerge declaring the establishment of the state of Islam, so that people and things would return each to their right places and Allah is our helper.

"...and if Allah had not prevented men, the one by the other, verily the earth had been corrupted: but Allah is beneficient towards his creatures." (The Cow - verse 251).

Article Ten:

As the Islamic Resistance Movement paves its way, it will back the oppressed and support the wronged with all its might. It will spare no effort to bring about justice and defeat injustice, in word and deed, in this place and everywhere it can reach and have influence therein.

Strategies of the Islamic Resistance Movement: Palestine Is Isalmic aqf:
Article Eleven:

The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that. Palestine is an Islamic Waqf land consecrated for Moslem generations until Judgement Day. This being so, who could claim to have the right to represent Moslem generations till Judgement Day?

This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.

It happened like this: When the leaders of the Islamic armies conquered Syria and Iraq, they sent to the Caliph of the Moslems, Umar bin-el-Khatab, asking for his advice concerning the conquered land - whether they should divide it among the soldiers, or leave it for its owners, or what? After consultations and discussions between the Caliph of the Moslems, Omar bin-el-Khatab and companions of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, it was decided that the land should be left with its owners who could benefit by its fruit. As for the real ownership of the land and the land itself, it should be consecrated for Moslem generations till Judgement Day. Those who are on the land, are there only to benefit from its fruit. This Waqf remains as long as earth and heaven remain. Any procedure in contradiction to Islamic Sharia, where Palestine is concerned, is null and void.

"Verily, this is a certain truth. Wherefore praise the name of thy Lord, the great Allah." (The Inevitable - verse 95).

Homeland and Nationalism from the Point of View of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine:
Article Twelve:

Nationalism, from the point of view of the Islamic Resistance Movement, is part of the religious creed. Nothing in nationalism is more significant or deeper than in the case when an enemy should tread Moslem land. Resisting and quelling the enemy become the individual duty of every Moslem, male or female. A woman can go out to fight the enemy without her husband's permission, and so does the slave: without his master's permission.

Nothing of the sort is to be found in any other regime. This is an undisputed fact. If other nationalist movements are connected with materialistic, human or regional causes, nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement has all these elements as well as the more important elements that give it soul and life. It is connected to the source of spirit and the granter of life, hoisting in the sky of the homeland the heavenly banner that joins earth and heaven with a strong bond.

If Moses comes and throws his staff, both witch and magic are annulled.

"Now is the right direction manifestly distinguished from deceit: whoever therefore shall deny Tagut, and believe in Allah, he shall surely take hold with a strong handle, which shall not be broken; Allah is he who heareth and seeth." (The Cow - Verse 256).

Peaceful Solutions, Initiatives and International Conferences:
Article Thirteen:

Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that. For the sake of hoisting the banner of Allah over their homeland they fight. "Allah will be prominent, but most people do not know."

Now and then the call goes out for the convening of an international conference to look for ways of solving the (Palestinian) question. Some accept, others reject the idea, for this or other reason, with one stipulation or more for consent to convening the conference and participating in it. Knowing the parties constituting the conference, their past and present attitudes towards Moslem problems, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not consider these conferences capable of realising the demands, restoring the rights or doing justice to the oppressed. These conferences are only ways of setting the infidels in the land of the Moslems as arbitraters. When did the infidels do justice to the believers?

"But the Jews will not be pleased with thee, neither the Christians, until thou follow their religion; say, The direction of Allah is the true direction. And verily if thou follow their desires, after the knowledge which hath been given thee, thou shalt find no patron or protector against Allah." (The Cow - verse 120).

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with. As in said in the honourable Hadith:

"The people of Syria are Allah's lash in His land. He wreaks His vengeance through them against whomsoever He wishes among His slaves It is unthinkable that those who are double-faced among them should prosper over the faithful. They will certainly die out of grief and desperation."

The Three Circles:
Article Fourteen:

The question of the liberation of Palestine is bound to three circles: the Palestinian circle, the Arab circle and the Islamic circle. Each of these circles has its role in the struggle against Zionism. Each has its duties, and it is a horrible mistake and a sign of deep ignorance to overlook any of these circles. Palestine is an Islamic land which has the first of the two kiblahs (direction to which Moslems turn in praying), the third of the holy (Islamic) sanctuaries, and the point of departure for Mohamed's midnight journey to the seven heavens (i.e. Jerusalem).

"Praise be unto him who transported his servant by night, from the sacred temple of Mecca to the farther temple of Jerusalem, the circuit of which we have blessed, that we might show him some of our signs; for Allah is he who heareth, and seeth." (The Night-Journey - verse 1).

Since this is the case, liberation of Palestine is then an individual duty for very Moslem wherever he may be. On this basis, the problem should be viewed. This should be realised by every Moslem.

The day the problem is dealt with on this basis, when the three circles mobilize their capabilities, the present state of affairs will change and the day of liberation will come nearer.

"Verily ye are stronger than they, by reason of the terror cast into their breasts from Allah. This, because they are not people of prudence." (The Emigration - verse 13).

The Jihad for the Liberation of Palestine is an Individual Duty:
Article Fifteen:

The day that enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In face of the Jews' usurpation of Palestine, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised. To do this requires the diffusion of Islamic consciousness among the masses, both on the regional, Arab and Islamic levels. It is necessary to instill the spirit of Jihad in the heart of the nation so that they would confront the enemies and join the ranks of the fighters.

It is necessary that scientists, educators and teachers, information and media people, as well as the educated masses, especially the youth and sheikhs of the Islamic movements, should take part in the operation of awakening (the masses). It is important that basic changes be made in the school curriculum, to cleanse it of the traces of ideological invasion that affected it as a result of the orientalists and missionaries who infiltrated the region following the defeat of the Crusaders at the hands of Salah el-Din (Saladin). The Crusaders realised that it was impossible to defeat the Moslems without first having ideological invasion pave the way by upsetting their thoughts, disfiguring their heritage and violating their ideals. Only then could they invade with soldiers. This, in its turn, paved the way for the imperialistic invasion that made Allenby declare on entering Jerusalem: "Only now have the Crusades ended." General Guru stood at Salah el-Din's grave and said: "We have returned, O Salah el-Din." Imperialism has helped towards the strengthening of ideological invasion, deepening, and still does, its roots. All this has paved the way towards the loss of Palestine.

It is necessary to instill in the minds of the Moslem generations that the Palestinian problem is a religious problem, and should be dealt with on this basis. Palestine contains Islamic holy sites. In it there is al- Aqsa Mosque which is bound to the great Mosque in Mecca in an inseparable bond as long as heaven and earth speak of Isra` (Mohammed's midnight journey to the seven heavens) and Mi'raj (Mohammed's ascension to the seven heavens from Jerusalem).

"The bond of one day for the sake of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it. The place of one's whip in Paradise is far better than the world and whatever there is on it. A worshipper's going and coming in the service of Allah is better than the world and whatever there is on it." (As related by al-Bukhari, Moslem, al-Tarmdhi and Ibn Maja).

"I swear by the holder of Mohammed's soul that I would like to invade and be killed for the sake of Allah, then invade and be killed, and then invade again and be killed." (As related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

The Education of the Generations:
Article Sixteen:

It is necessary to follow Islamic orientation in educating the Islamic generations in our region by teaching the religious duties, comprehensive study of the Koran, the study of the Prophet's Sunna (his sayings and doings), and learning about Islamic history and heritage from their authentic sources. This should be done by specialised and learned people, using a curriculum that would healthily form the thoughts and faith of the Moslem student. Side by side with this, a comprehensive study of the enemy, his human and financial capabilities, learning about his points of weakness and strength, and getting to know the forces supporting and helping him, should also be included. Also, it is important to be acquainted with the current events, to follow what is new and to study the analysis and commentaries made of these events. Planning for the present and future, studying every trend appearing, is a must so that the fighting Moslem would live knowing his aim, objective and his way in the midst of what is going on around him.

"O my son, verily every matter, whether good or bad, though it be the weight of a grain of mustard-seed, and be hidden in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will bring the same to light; for Allah is clear-sighted and knowing. O my son, be constant at prayer, and command that which is just, and forbid that which is evil: and be patient under the afflictions which shall befall thee; for this is a duty absolutely incumbent on all men. Distort not thy face out of contempt to men, neither walk in the earth with insolence; for Allah loveth no arrogant, vain-glorious person." (Lokman - verses 16-18).

The Role of the Moslem Woman:
Article Seventeen:

The Moslem woman has a role no less important than that of the moslem man in the battle of liberation. She is the maker of men. Her role in guiding and educating the new generations is great. The enemies have realised the importance of her role. They consider that if they are able to direct and bring her up they way they wish, far from Islam, they would have won the battle. That is why you find them giving these attempts constant attention through information campaigns, films, and the school curriculum, using for that purpose their lackeys who are infiltrated through Zionist organizations under various names and shapes, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, espionage groups and others, which are all nothing more than cells of subversion and saboteurs. These organizations have ample resources that enable them to play their role in societies for the purpose of achieving the Zionist targets and to deepen the concepts that would serve the enemy. These organizations operate in the absence of Islam and its estrangement among its people. The Islamic peoples should perform their role in confronting the conspiracies of these saboteurs. The day Islam is in control of guiding the affairs of life, these organizations, hostile to humanity and Islam, will be obliterated.
Article Eighteen:

Woman in the home of the fighting family, whether she is a mother or a sister, plays the most important role in looking after the family, rearing the children and embuing them with moral values and thoughts derived from Islam. She has to teach them to perform the religious duties in preparation for the role of fighting awaiting them. That is why it is necessary to pay great attention to schools and the curriculum followed in educating Moslem girls, so that they would grow up to be good mothers, aware of their role in the battle of liberation.

She has to be of sufficient knowledge and understanding where the performance of housekeeping matters are concerned, because economy and avoidance of waste of the family budget, is one of the requirements for the ability to continue moving forward in the difficult conditions surrounding us. She should put before her eyes the fact that the money available to her is just like blood which should never flow except through the veins so that both children and grown-ups could continue to live.

"Verily, the Moslems of either sex, and the true believers of either sex, and the devout men, and the devout women, and the men of veracity, and the women of veracity, and the patient men, and the patient women, and the humble men, and the humble women, and the alms-givers of either sex who remember Allah frequently; for them hath Allah prepared forgiveness and a great reward." (The Confederates - verse 25).

The Role of Islamic Art in the Battle of Liberation:
Article Nineteen:

Art has regulations and measures by which it can be determined whether it is Islamic or pre-Islamic (Jahili) art. The issues of Islamic liberation are in need of Islamic art that would take the spirit high, without raising one side of human nature above the other, but rather raise all of them harmoniously an in equilibrium.

Man is a unique and wonderful creature, made out of a handful of clay and a breath from Allah. Islamic art addresses man on this basis, while pre-Islamic art addresses the body giving preference to the clay component in it.

The book, the article, the bulletin, the sermon, the thesis, the popular poem, the poetic ode, the song, the play and others, contain the characteristics of Islamic art, then these are among the requirements of ideological mobilization, renewed food for the journey and recreation for the soul. The road is long and suffering is plenty. The soul will be bored, but Islamic art renews the energies, resurrects the movement, arousing in them lofty meanings and proper conduct. "Nothing can improve the self if it is in retreat except shifting from one mood to another."

All this is utterly serious and no jest, for those who are fighters do not jest.

Social Mutual Responsibility:
Article Twenty:

Moslem society is a mutually responsible society. The Prophet, prayers and greetings be unto him, said: "Blessed are the generous, whether they were in town or on a journey, who have collected all that they had and shared it equally among themselves."

The Islamic spirit is what should prevail in every Moslem society. The society that confronts a vicious enemy which acts in a way similar to Nazism, making no differentiation between man and woman, between children and old people - such a society is entitled to this Islamic spirit. Our enemy relies on the methods of collective punishment. He has deprived people of their homeland and properties, pursued them in their places of exile and gathering, breaking bones, shooting at women, children and old people, with or without a reason. The enemy has opened detention camps where thousands and thousands of people are thrown and kept under sub-human conditions. Added to this, are the demolition of houses, rendering children orphans, meting cruel sentences against thousands of young people, and causing them to spend the best years of their lives in the dungeons of prisons.

In their Nazi treatment, the Jews made no exception for women or children. Their policy of striking fear in the heart is meant for all. They attack people where their breadwinning is concerned, extorting their money and threatening their honour. They deal with people as if they were the worst war criminals. Deportation from the homeland is a kind of murder.

To counter these deeds, it is necessary that social mutual responsibility should prevail among the people. The enemy should be faced by the people as a single body which if one member of it should complain, the rest of the body would respond by feeling the same pains.
Article Twenty-One:

Mutual social responsibility means extending assistance, financial or moral, to all those who are in need and joining in the execution of some of the work. Members of the Islamic Resistance Movement should consider the interests of the masses as their own personal interests. They must spare no effort in achieving and preserving them. They must prevent any foul play with the future of the upcoming generations and anything that could cause loss to society. The masses are part of them and they are part of the masses. Their strength is theirs, and their future is theirs. Members of the Islamic Resistance Movement should share the people's joy and grief, adopt the demands of the public and whatever means by which they could be realised. The day that such a spirit prevails, brotherliness would deepen, cooperation, sympathy and unity will be enhanced and the ranks will be solidified to confront the enemies.

Supportive Forces Behind the Enemy:
Article Twenty-Two:

For a long time, the enemies have been planning, skillfully and with precision, for the achievement of what they have attained. They took into consideration the causes affecting the current of events. They strived to amass great and substantive material wealth which they devoted to the realisation of their dream. With their money, they took control of the world media, news agencies, the press, publishing houses, broadcasting stations, and others. With their money they stirred revolutions in various parts of the world with the purpose of achieving their interests and reaping the fruit therein. They were behind the French Revolution, the Communist revolution and most of the revolutions we heard and hear about, here and there. With their money they formed secret societies, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, the Lions and others in different parts of the world for the purpose of sabotaging societies and achieving Zionist interests. With their money they were able to control imperialistic countries and instigate them to colonize many countries in order to enable them to exploit their resources and spread corruption there.

You may speak as much as you want about regional and world wars. They were behind World War I, when they were able to destroy the Islamic Caliphate, making financial gains and controlling resources. They obtained the Balfour Declaration, formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains by trading in armaments, and paved the way for the establishment of their state. It was they who instigated the replacement of the League of Nations with the United Nations and the Security Council to enable them to rule the world through them. There is no war going on anywhere, without having their finger in it.

"So often as they shall kindle a fire for war, Allah shall extinguish it; and they shall set their minds to act corruptly in the earth, but Allah loveth not the corrupt doers." (The Table - verse 64).

The imperialistic forces in the Capitalist West and Communist East, support the enemy with all their might, in money and in men. These forces take turns in doing that. The day Islam appears, the forces of infidelity would unite to challenge it, for the infidels are of one nation.

"O true believers, contract not an intimate friendship with any besides yourselves: they will not fail to corrupt you. They wish for that which may cause you to perish: their hatred hath already appeared from out of their mouths; but what their breasts conceal is yet more inveterate. We have already shown you signs of their ill will towards you, if ye understand." (The Family of Imran - verse 118).

It is not in vain that the verse is ended with Allah's words "if ye understand."

Our Attitudes Towards:

A. Islamic Movements:
Article Twenty-Three:

The Islamic Resistance Movement views other Islamic movements with respect and appreciation. If it were at variance with them on one point or opinion, it is in agreement with them on other points and understandings. It considers these movements, if they reveal good intentions and dedication to Allah, that they fall into the category of those who are trying hard since they act within the Islamic circle. Each active person has his share.

The Islamic Resistance Movement considers all these movements as a fund for itself. It prays to Allah for guidance and directions for all and it spares no effort to keep the banner of unity raised, ever striving for its realisation in accordance with the Koran and the Prophet's directives.

"And cleave all of you unto the covenant of Allah, and depart not from it, and remember the favour of Allah towards you: since ye were enemies, and he reconciled your hearts, and ye became companions and brethren by his favour: and ye were on the brink of a pit of fire, and he delivered you thence. Allah declareth unto you his signs, that ye may be directed." (The Family of Imran - Verse 102).

Article Twenty-Four:

The Islamic Resistance Movement does not allow slandering or speaking ill of individuals or groups, for the believer does not indulge in such malpractices. It is necessary to differentiate between this behaviour and the stands taken by certain individuals and groups. Whenever those stands are erroneous, the Islamic Resistance Movement preserves the right to expound the error and to warn against it. It will strive to show the right path and to judge the case in question with objectivity. Wise conduct is indeed the target of the believer who follows it wherever he discerns it.

"Allah loveth not the speaking ill of anyone in public, unless he who is injured call for assistance; and Allah heareth and knoweth: whether ye publish a good action, or conceal it, or forgive evil, verily Allah is gracious and powerful." (Women - verses 147-148).

B. Nationalist Movements in the Palestinian Arena:
Article Twenty-Five:

The Islamic Resistance Movement respects these movements and appreciates their circumstances and the conditions surrounding and affecting them. It encourages them as long as they do not give their allegiance to the Communist East or the Crusading West. It confirms to all those who are integrated in it, or sympathetic towards it, that the Islamic Resistance Movement is a fighting movement that has a moral and enlightened look of life and the way it should cooperate with the other (movements). It detests opportunism and desires only the good of people, individuals and groups alike. It does not seek material gains, personal fame, nor does it look for a reward from others. It works with its own resources and whatever is at its disposal "and prepare for them whatever force you can", for the fulfilment of the duty, and the earning of Allah's favour. It has no other desire than that.

The Movement assures all the nationalist trends operating in the Palestinian arena for the liberation of Palestine, that it is there for their support and assistance. It will never be more than that, both in words and deeds, now and in the future. It is there to bring together and not to divide, to preserve and not to squander, to unify and not to throw asunder. It evaluates every good word, sincere effort and good offices. It closes the door in the face of side disagreements and does not lend an ear to rumours and slanders, while at the same time fully realising the right for self-defence.

Anything contrary or contradictory to these trends, is a lie disseminated by enemies or their lackeys for the purpose of sowing confusion, disrupting the ranks and occupy them with side issues.

"O true believers, if a wicked man come unto you with a tale, inquire strictly into the truth thereof; lest ye hurt people through ignorance, and afterwards repent of what ye have done." (The Inner Apartments - verse 6).

Article Twenty-Six:

In viewing the Palestinian nationalist movements that give allegiance neither to the East nor the West, in this positive way, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not refrain from discussing new situations on the regional or international levels where the Palestinian question is concerned. It does that in such an objective manner revealing the extent of how much it is in harmony or contradiction with the national interests in the light of the Islamic point of view.

C. The Palestinian Liberation Organization:
Article Twenty-Seven:

The Palestinian Liberation Organization is the closest to the heart of the Islamic Resistance Movement. It contains the father and the brother, the next of kin and the friend. The Moslem does not estrange himself from his father, brother, next of kin or friend. Our homeland is one, our situation is one, our fate is one and the enemy is a joint enemy to all of us.

Because of the situations surrounding the formation of the Organization, of the ideological confusion prevailing in the Arab world as a result of the ideological invasion under whose influence the Arab world has fallen since the defeat of the Crusaders and which was, and still is, intensified through orientalists, missionaries and imperialists, the Organization adopted the idea of the secular state. And that it how we view it.

Secularism completely contradicts religious ideology. Attitudes, conduct and decisions stem from ideologies.

That is why, with all our appreciation for The Palestinian Liberation Organization - and what it can develop into - and without belittling its role in the Arab-Israeli conflict, we are unable to exchange the present or future Islamic Palestine with the secular idea. The Islamic nature of Palestine is part of our religion and whoever takes his religion lightly is a loser.

"Who will be adverse to the religion of Abraham, but he whose mind is infatuated? (The Cow - verse 130).

The day The Palestinian Liberation Organization adopts Islam as its way of life, we will become its soldiers, and fuel for its fire that will burn the enemies.

Until such a day, and we pray to Allah that it will be soon, the Islamic Resistance Movement's stand towards the PLO is that of the son towards his father, the brother towards his brother, and the relative to relative, suffers his pain and supports him in confronting the enemies, wishing him to be wise and well-guided.

"Stand by your brother, for he who is brotherless is like the fighter who goes to battle without arms. One's cousin is the wing one flies with - could the bird fly without wings?"

D. Arab and Islamic Countries:
Article Twenty-Eight:

The Zionist invasion is a vicious invasion. It does not refrain from resorting to all methods, using all evil and contemptible ways to achieve its end. It relies greatly in its infiltration and espionage operations on the secret organizations it gave rise to, such as the Freemasons, The Rotary and Lions clubs, and other sabotage groups. All these organizations, whether secret or open, work in the interest of Zionism and according to its instructions. They aim at undermining societies, destroying values, corrupting consciences, deteriorating character and annihilating Islam. It is behind the drug trade and alcoholism in all its kinds so as to facilitate its control and expansion.

Arab countries surrounding Israel are asked to open their borders before the fighters from among the Arab and Islamic nations so that they could consolidate their efforts with those of their Moslem brethren in Palestine.

As for the other Arab and Islamic countries, they are asked to facilitate the movement of the fighters from and to it, and this is the least thing they could do.

We should not forget to remind every Moslem that when the Jews conquered the Holy City in 1967, they stood on the threshold of the Aqsa Mosque and proclaimed that "Mohammed is dead, and his descendants are all women."

Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people. "May the cowards never sleep."

E. Nationalist and Religious Groupings, Institutions, Intellectuals, The Arab and Islamic World:

The Islamic Resistance Movement hopes that all these groupings will side with it in all spheres, would support it, adopt its stand and solidify its activities and moves, work towards rallying support for it so that the Islamic people will be a base and a stay for it, supplying it with strategic depth an all human material and informative spheres, in time and in place. This should be done through the convening of solidarity conferences, the issuing of explanatory bulletins, favourable articles and booklets, enlightening the masses regarding the Palestinian issue, clarifying what confronts it and the conspiracies woven around it. They should mobilize the Islamic nations, ideologically, educationally and culturally, so that these peoples would be equipped to perform their role in the decisive battle of liberation, just as they did when they vanquished the Crusaders and the Tatars and saved human civilization. Indeed, that is not difficult for Allah.

"Allah hath written, Verily I will prevail, and my apostles: for Allah is strong and mighty." (The Dispute - verse 21).

Article Thirty:

Writers, intellectuals, media people, orators, educaters and teachers, and all the various sectors in the Arab and Islamic world - all of them are called upon to perform their role, and to fulfill their duty, because of the ferocity of the Zionist offensive and the Zionist influence in many countries exercised through financial and media control, as well as the consequences that all this lead to in the greater part of the world.

Jihad is not confined to the carrying of arms and the confrontation of the enemy. The effective word, the good article, the useful book, support and solidarity - together with the presence of sincere purpose for the hoisting of Allah's banner higher and higher - all these are elements of the Jihad for Allah's sake.

"Whosoever mobilises a fighter for the sake of Allah is himself a fighter. Whosoever supports the relatives of a fighter, he himself is a fighter." (related by al-Bukhari, Moslem, Abu-Dawood and al-Tarmadhi).

F. Followers of Other Religions: The Islamic Resistance Movement Is A Humanistic Movement:
Article Thirty-One:

The Islamic Resistance Movement is a humanistic movement. It takes care of human rights and is guided by Islamic tolerance when dealing with the followers of other religions. It does not antagonize anyone of them except if it is antagonized by it or stands in its way to hamper its moves and waste its efforts.

Under the wing of Islam, it is possible for the followers of the three religions - Islam, Christianity and Judaism - to coexist in peace and quiet with each other. Peace and quiet would not be possible except under the wing of Islam. Past and present history are the best witness to that.

It is the duty of the followers of other religions to stop disputing the sovereignty of Islam in this region, because the day these followers should take over there will be nothing but carnage, displacement and terror. Everyone of them is at variance with his fellow-religionists, not to speak about followers of other religionists. Past and present history are full of examples to prove this fact.

"They will not fight against you in a body, except in fenced towns, or from behind walls. Their strength in war among themselves is great: thou thinkest them to be united; but their hearts are divided. This, because they are people who do not understand." (The Emigration - verse 14).

Islam confers upon everyone his legitimate rights. Islam prevents the incursion on other people's rights. The Zionist Nazi activities against our people will not last for long. "For the state of injustice lasts but one day, while the state of justice lasts till Doomsday."

This is the only way to liberate Palestine. There is no doubt about the testimony of history. It is one of the laws of the universe and one of the rules of existence. A creed could not be fought except by a creed, and in the last analysis, victory is for the just, for justice is certainly victorious.

Article Thirty-Five:

Were the Nazis heroes? Didn’t they also die for what they thought was right? Haven’t we all learned by now that *everyone* is doing what they think is right. The question is, what can be observed about their actions. Fighting in Iraq or in Afghanistan means you’re fighting for the wealth and power of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, et al. We now have pipelines being built across both countries. Was that worth dying for? Does dying for pipelines make one a hero? Conditions in Afghanistan and Iraq are worse than before the invasions. In Afghanistan the Northern Alliance is (supposedly) in power, which is composed of some factions that make the Taliban’s record on human rights look near respectable. In Iraq soldiers are dying daily because the Iraqi people refuse to become an occupied nation, a US colony. That is not going to stop, ever. We’ve learned that lesson time and time again. Wherever you find colonialism, you will find resistance. History has taught that the resistance always wins except in cases of undeterred genocide (such as the genocide of the Native Americans).

To be honest I wish I could feel sorry for the guy, but the truth is I really feel nothing at all. To many have died and too much money has flowed into the pockets of Dick Cheney to even worry about it. Either people will wake up, or they’ll continue to waste their lives and the lives of others for the profits of a privileged few. How long will we have to wait for people to embrace a proper remembrance of all the lives that have been lost in the past years?

I was stationed at Subic in 91. Mostly we patrolled base housing (NPA worries), but we worked with R.P. forces on a couple of things.

The Philipino Marines were pretty professional, but they had no lube for their guns. We were always giving them CLP. They used Vietnam era M-16's that looked to be about to rust out.

The Navy guys were scrubs. Not trained, and their rifles were in worse shape then the Marines' were. One of them almost killed me banging his M16 against the side of my LAV (armored vehicle) climbing up. I thought it would go off, but then I saw he only had one mag, and it wasn't in the rifle.

The Scout Rangers were supposed to be bad asses. I never worked with them, but they took the rifles off some (U.S.) Barracks Marines patrolling around the comm station. They had been disbanded after Marcos, but reformed before we got down there. From what I understand, they have been more involved with politics then hunting communists.

I don't think the communists or jihadis will be successful in taking over, despite these issues. Any store that had decent money had one or two guys out front with shotguns at the least. There is definitely a "Wild West" flavor to the P.I. All they can do is retard any progess the Philipinos would make otherwise. That's a damn shame, I liked the people there more then anywhere else I have been in the world.

It wasn't that long ago historically that entertainers were considered to be in the lowest of social classes, doing their singing and dancing for a few coins thrown into the gutter.

Now we have people "earning" millions of dollars for looking pretty. Some of them don't even have acting skill. I won't give names, coz that is a subjective judgement.

And that is cool in a free market system. There is a problem tho, when our dancing monkeys start believing that their popularity makes them experts on policy matters. It becomes a much bigger problem when that popularity and the money that comes with it plays a role in determining policy. Everybody on this board knows the contemptous meaning of "Hollywood". No one has to say "gathering of anti-American, pretentious movie stars, producers, etc etc that have influence with the Dhimmi party".

Considering that news media in this country has become an arm of entertainment rather then a source of information, we are lucky to have the free market alternative to turn to others means of info - weblogs, less "infotainmental" media like Fox, etc. There should be no need for NPR or the BBC to be paid for by the taxpayer. Besides, nobody listens to NPR except those twinkies that reinforce their worldview with it.

Congratulations to the British for taking the steps of putting down a beast that has betrayed it's own heritage.

We have also scared QueDaffy into giving up his little toys. We have also got the mullahs pissing their robes. I would like to sue a news agency for providing faulty product. The most likely target would be the most vile of the "quagmire" purveyors.

Do I have to show that I purchased the "news" to be eligle for harm to be caused? Is it enough to show that I am being harmed in that national security is degraded by slanted news coverage? Is the idea that "objective" coverage undercuts one political canditate damaging to my civil rights?

What kind of proof is needed for success? Do I have to show that the news agency is intentionally biasing news coverage? Do I only have to show that there is a bias in stories chosen, language used in the sory, letters to the publisher published, etc, etc.

What sort of items would be considered proof? Eason Jordan's confession that CNN manipulated pre-war Iraq news? Or maybe no coverage at all that Kerry referred to a man in the process of inciting the killing of Americans as a legitimate voice in Iraq? Consistent use of words situationally inapproprate words(quagmire, tet,fiasco) to project a specific image?

How much leeway does freedom of speech/press give towards establishing news? Is media information subject to "truth in adverstising"? Should a media outlet define themselves with a political label?

To my way of thinking, it is not even necessary to "win" the suit. If enough proof is offered in court that a certain agency is biased, the offender's credibilty would be understood by the public to be worse then a politician's.

Just brainstorming, but there definetely needs to be a way to hold the media accountable in one way or another.

I agree that there is a normal revulsion in middleclass Americans against killing.

That revulsion is a socially conditioned response, and in the context of a middle class existence, understandable and justified.

Lower class Americans are not socialized in the same ways. Honor, or more appropriately, face, plays more of a role in morally driven decisions then "the sanctity of life" does. The high rate of muder among young blacks is NOT a result of some racial flaw in blacks, but as a result of the ghetto environment that a segment of the black population lives in. You can still find many with middle-class values in these (lower class, not nec. black) areas, but the prevalent culture is violence based.

Middle class America finds killing (and "abusing" prisoners) repellent.

Islam does not. Social conditioning under sharia is violence based. Adherence to Islamic Law drives moral decisions.

If someone that believes that violence is morally wrong confronts someone who has no qualms against using violence, who do you think will come out of the encouter worse for the wear?

Our soldiers have psychologically prepared themselves to kill when necessary, but does a population that abhors killing allow it's military to accomplish it's tasks?

Or do we as a society push for the pychological hardening and justification for killing our enemies?

I look at it a a matter of two fronts in the war to protect democracy. The problem is that one one front, we have obvious enemies (tranzies, the media, and the Dhimmicrat party) that can't be touched. The best way we have so far is to keep speading the truth, and fighting the lies. It is not reasonable to suggest that what the reporter did was a subjective rendering of facts, in light of the comments made by the "interviewees". The reporter flat out made up the story he wanted to.

If this indeed possible, why not start suing every media source in the country (hell, even overseas media, read rooters there, that distributes in the states) that lies in their reporting.

This isn't a new thing. The media has been biased since I started paying attention to the process (bout 81 or 82). Probably started during Vietnam.

There aren't a lot of options for dealing with the lying bastards either:
1- Boycott their advertisers, and let the media source, as well as the advertiser, what is going to have to be done to correct bias.
2 - Protest (within legal standards) AT the stations/offices themselves, and invite competing stations to cover you. The vultures, in the end, care more about ratings then they do for toeing the party line, and will be happy to give you airtime. Join Protest Warriors, or a similar group.
3- Keep informed. Use resources like LGF and the Media Research Center
4- Open your own blog, and pass on info.
5 - MoveOn just sued Fox. The DNC takes preemptive action against swiftboat
veterans by threatening legal action against media outlets that take their ads. Use the same approach - sue and harass the big networks! How about another "digital brownshirt" 527?

The press has been a political tool since the establishment of this country. There shouldn't be government control over the press, but we should, as citizens, have had ENUFF of the treason and lies the media subjects us to.

The 9/11 Commission did indeed note links between Al-Queada and Iraq's intel apparati. They stated that there was no connection linking the two entities in planning 9/11.

It was the press that stated that the 9/11 Commission "refuted" the Bush admin. Both the Commisioner and the Vice Comissioner berated the press for distorting the results.

The press not only distorted the 9/11 commision's result, but based that distortion on a second distortion. The Bush admin never claimed that Iraq had assisted AQ in the 9/11 attacks. This is a strawman fallacy used by the media to slander the WOT.

As far as WMD, not only did the Kay report outline WMD programs, but only a month ago, an artillery shell containing Sarin (that is a WMD, btw) was used in an attempted IED attack. Finally the "holy" UN has released a report that WMD materials were removed from Iraq during the war.

Funny that info doesn't make into the media, which is THE TOPIC of this thread.

I suggest that if you like lies so much, you go back to Moore's movies, TV news,and Kerry's press releases where your intellect is so easily met.

Bush has done a good job.

Between Afghanistan and Iraq, he has set back Al Queda by ten to fifteen years, and has turned Iraq from a potential WMD dispensor into an oasis of potential for dragging the ummah out of the 7th century. In the process, he has scared Quadfi into semi-lunacy (as opposed to his previous full-blown lunacy).

On the homefront-economically, the tax cuts he forced on Congress both made my personal life better, and blunted the effects of the recession. Money flow makes for a good economy. Don't forget, the recession/stock market debacle began under clin-ton's tenure (not that I hold the definer of "is" responsible for the ups and downs of the business cycle, either good or bad).

Unless you as the consumer stop using companies that outsource (remember, and patronise your local businessman), it remains viable for them to offshore jobs. In any case, I think that (the mostly Republican) governors will start opening state jobs up pretty soon, as an aid to Bush.

As far as the gay-marraige thing goes, it should be a non-issue. I don't see why anybody would complain about the President stating what he personally believes when he is in agreement of 70% of the country.

As far as immigration, there are are a lot of problem people coming up, but the majority of mojados (in the non-perjorative sense) bust their asses on jobs that our home grown welfare rats wouldn't touch with a platinum benefits card. If our courts would start slamming people, immigrant or not, for violating the law, then the criminal element ceases to be an issue.

The two things I do have a complaint about would be the ban on stem-cell research (visions of genetecilly engineered super-soldiers and harem girls were dancing in my head -jk on the harem girls!); and the attempt to buy votes with excessive spending in the last couple of months.

And why aren't we spending more money opening space? I don't mind going in debt for that.

First, the U.S. invaded Iraq solely for oil.

Second, had the U.S not cowboyed it, a frank and cordial discussion with Saddam would have resolved the situation.

In regards to the first meme, where is our profit now? I am still waiting for my share of the oil money after Haliburton dug a pipeline across Afghanistan. I guess Saddam didn't gas the Kurds or the Shiites with nonexistent WMD, so I can rest easy on that one. It's also a good thing that Saddam's regieme didn't bury over 300,000 people in the ten years that EU/UN diplomacy was convincing him to be a good person, so we can forget about that portion of Bush's argument as well. Since ther were NO contact between Saddam's intel folks and Al Queada or it's attendent cells, should be ashamed that I fell for that one. Also, since the first war (GW 1)was about the oil, and I got my check for my share of the royalties last time, then I should be expecting the next check soon.

As for the second, the UN was doing such a good job of writing resolutions that it was a shame for us to stop spending the money necessary to keep an army on either side of Iraq and actually do the job. How guache. We should have known that Saddam would play nice as long as Chiraq was getting his ELF checks. Those UN inspectors certainally never found any evidence of a weapons development program (Kay is delusional by the way - like I said, Saddam never gassed Kurds), and Saddam would NEVER bribe UN officials or influential members of Europes aristocracy.

There are certain things to remember, tho.

4) (and last, I'm too longwinded!) We can't fight the whole world at once. The EU was happy to keep our troops on Iraq's borders, bleeding our dollars, effeciency, and potential to respond elsewhere. There is an active fifth column in country that includes acedemia and the media (not pro-islamic, simply anti-american). Getting back to politics, it is just not feasible to give the Saudis what they deserve right now.

The woman's name is Rita Katz, the book she wrote is "Terrorist Hunter". Her site is SITEinstitute.

There is enough of an element of similarity to justify IMO.
1- An enemy is an enemy (and again, we are speaking of the governments here, even tho it's the civvies that will be affected. I don't see why Israel would need to declare war openly on the EU, or vice-versa, when certain EU countrys are currently acting to weaken Israels security position.

After all, basically either way you cut it we are talking about the murder of civilians, or the threat of murdering civvies in the pursuit of policy. That was/is the backbone of MAD. The jihadis do it a little differently; there is no threat - there is just murder until the policy they want to establish (sharia) is established.

Going back to bigel's very intense feelings for the Euro's, I think a lot of American's probably have more of a contempt for the French and Germans then vice-versa. Neo-Con sums up very neatly in #197 what a lot of us believe. The anti-semitism going on over there is not helping the Euro image out all. Throw in a sense of betrayal, and I think a lot of us just shudder when we hear "European allies". That is really not fair to the (especially New Euro) countries that did honor the relationship we have had, but I think that Anti-Europeanism is the gut reaction.

I am starting to meander here a little more off-topic with each sentence, so I will finish up my work here, and get some sleep. And I was never personally offended, either. Like it was said, a sick subject.

There is a difference between intentionally brutal tactics (which are intended to terrorize a populace at large, and which Russia does use) and finishing a battle regardless of civilian casualties.

Of course I'm using Falluhjah as a specific example. Instead of falling for the hudna trick over and over, and worrying about looking good for the world. Finishing the job in Fallujah would result in a lot of civilian deaths; but NOT finishing the job makes us look weak. Looking weak invites further attack upon us.

I won't use the sanitized term "collateral damage". I recognize, and accept moral responsibilty for the deaths of innocents in the war on terror. I simply see that as the lesser of two evils.

Ah, but the UN and the EU are "them". The UN is comprised of dictatorships that butcher their people. This is going to sound stupid, b/c the Iraqis (and our guys over there, and our coalition partners) are paying in blood right now; but, I am jealous of one facet of what the Iraqis are experiencing.

They are fighting for their freedom, and for their country. I know that probably most of them are scared spitless for their families, but can you imagine the exhilaration and patriotism they feel? They must feel like the minutemen of our revolution did.

Here I am sitting on my fat ass, while the best I can contribute is by passing out Bush04 bumper stickers. I can take pride in what I have done so far in life (4 years in the USMC - 0313); I can take pride in a President that will forsake his family to serve the troops a holiday bird; I can take pride that we have troops that take their pride in delivering people from evil; I can take pride in forums like this, which have for the most part a good exchange of ideas.

But the Iraqis have the chance to build a new country- a place where they can succeed at freedom and prosperity like no other in the region. And that must put a swelling in their hearts that we can only match in our history. This current generation of Iraqis, I think, will always have this accomplishment to look back to.

Assuming that the good work continues. On their part (their Army recruits seem to be failing this part of the test; they need to help us out w more intel; overall I think they will do it tho, and G*d bless them) and on our part (if our 5th column isn't allowed to betray them and us by pulling us out too soon)

So keep on blogging gents, and maybe in a few years it will be the Iraqi army that will be sent in to Frawnce to rescue them from the mad mullahs they are prepping to run that country :>

There was a problem. I admit that. I'd rather not.

Do you remeber the quote from the Iraqi, paraphrased that they would rather be killed then embarrased. That is a key into the cultural mindset that we must defeat. Defeat it by using it's weaknesses. If they are more afraid of having their pics posted wearing women's panties then they are of dying (being jihad'd), then they might quit screwing around. I won't go into the value of this tactic for short-term interrogations.

I won't ask for humane treatment for those that won't act as humans themselves. I understand the hesitancy of those of you that can't stomach it. But an enemy that doesn't fight by the rules should have no expectation of being treated by the rules.

Another sign that the Bush admin isn't paying hard enuff attention to the War on Terror. I've bitched about the focus on attacking porn operators(in the name of "fighting child porn"), and here they go again by looking for user searches from the major search engines. Google, MSN, etc.

So far the biggies are refusing, which is a damn good thing. In the first place, Google doesn't list a lot of differnet types of sites. You can't get a decent hit on "hacks" from google to download nice malacious Trojans, for example. I bet you CAN'T GET a result for "child porn". I'm not doing a search to find out tho. In the second, there is some human editing going on at Google, that I've complained about before.

Now I can always hope that this is a cover to find jihadis accessing the search engines, but I doubt it.

I don't really consider this to be a "human rights" or "civil liberties" issue, however. By using these services (at those companies expense, remember)you don't have any say in what the companies do with their internal logs. If you want privacy, have the intelligence to privacy proof your comp, and your net interface.

I sure as hell don't think this is similar to the "civil rights violations" (SNORT) of listening to jihadi comm with US citizens. Yea right, let's turn off the bugs as soon as a jihadi starts talkin with a US citizen (who is usually a naturalized jihadi any GD way).

I have collected a lot of links for this site, but never really put them into play. I find it amazing the things that the 911 Commision concluded, but were reported by the media to say something opposite; that Joe Wilson can tell the media one thing, and the Senate Intel Committe something completely contradicory; that the Kay and Duelfer reports have been so distorted ; that Sen. Rockefeller can say that there was no Al Quadea/Iraq link when he served on the Committee that connected those dots; that, that, that...

there's so much more.

And right now I just can't set those things down in a clean presentation.

I've been wiped out since 9/11 (I tried to get back into service, and that didn't happen). My work situation, and the way that I handled it, didn't help. Trying to jump into a business, without understanding a lot of the major points, and while I was still exhausted didn't fix things.
